A math teacher in a Minnesota school asked his students to list the names of their classmates and write down what they liked about that child behind each name.

After the lesson, he collected the assignments, and after the lesson, he compiled the good qualities written by the children of his class on a single sheet of paper, and distributed them in the next lesson. Children read their pages and whisper here and there, "Is that what you think of me?... I didn't know I had such good qualities... I didn't know you loved me like this..." etc. They didn't discuss any results, but they knew from the teacher, their conversation, their posture, that they had achieved their goal of instilling confidence in their students.
Years passed and many years later, one of the boys in the class was tragically killed in the Vietnam War, and his funeral was held in his hometown of Minnesota, and his teachers and classmates attended his last farewell. During this time, the deceased boy's father and teacher approached:
"I want to show you something," he said.
- Do you know him? The teacher gave it to the woman saying that she found it in my son's pocket and that he never took it off his body.
It was another page of her son's personality that was liked by his classmates.
- I am very happy for you, my son used to treasure it very much, when the boy's father said, another interesting thing happened, the classmates who were there took out the same pages from the other page one after another. They said that we read it all the time, we carry it with us, it has become a kind of talisman for us.
This is at least one example that shows the importance of instilling self-confidence in children, and how children lack good words.
